thursday’s new album “common existence”

thursday has just finished their fifth album, first with epitaph records, entitled, “common existence.” the new album will be out february 17th. thursday will also be commencing a two year tour following the release of the new album.

frontman geoff rickly had this to say about the new album:

it’s called common existence because, that’s you know, no matter how big the tragedy seems in your life that’s just the same thing that every other person out there is going through. so in a way, this is like an answer to “war all the time.” when we did that record it was about how every little interaction was like this this crazy war going on in our lives. and this one says that even the biggest things in our lives are like very common places and every day… these very specific little details that make up your life. in the end that’s all you really have is those little moments that everyone else has. life is nothing special and at the same time it’s the only thing.
