the blood brothers broke up back in november and the members are now working on different projects, this is one of them.

for those blood brothers fans out there who haven’t heard, they have officially broken up. it was announced on november 8th after a short hiatus.
“Dear Friends,
After 10 years of making music as The Blood Brothers, we have made the collective decision that our time together has come to an end. We feel extremely fortunate to have spent such a deeply memorable and amazing part of our lives with each other. At this point, however, we feel it’s best that our futures move forward on separate paths. We’d like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all the bands we’ve played with, individuals who have helped us make our records, and fans who have come to our shows and picked up our music throughout the years. Your friendship, support and love hold such a profoundly special place in each of our hearts. We hope that the memories you attach to our music are as fond as those you have given us. Thank you and take care, we’ll miss all of you.

i was heartbroken when i heard this. i was fortunate enough to have just seen them this past june. i actually found a video of the performance…
i have enjoyed the blood brothers very much and will miss them dearly. luckily they will still be doing their own various projects.
johnny whitney and mark gajadhar have neon blonde, which is amazing. it’s like a more synthed blood brothers, because johnny’s voice is so distinctive.
johnny also recently started jaguar love with cody votolato and jay clark (formerly of pretty girls make graves.)
along with band projects, johnny and his wife amy carlsen have a clothing company called crystal city clothing.
jordan blilie and cody votolato along with members of the yeah yeah yeahs and the locust formed head wound city.
mark gajadhar and mc pearl dragon are a hip-hop duo called champagne champagne.
mark is also offering personal drum lessons to people in the seattle area here.
jordan blilie, mark gajadhar, and morgan henderson formed a band called past lives with original blood brothers guitarist devin welch.
it really is sad when bands go their separate ways, but i’m sure we can expect great things from these guys individually.
