fanfarlo’s debut album for $1

the debut album, reservoir, from the london-based band fanfarlo is available now and until july 4th for download for only one dollar. fanfarlo are good friends of sigur ros and i can definitely hear a little hint of sigur ros in their sound, but they mostly remind me of beirut. they sound like a more upbeat beirut with a dash of arcade fire, wrapped up nicely with their own creative and original feel. these guys are amazing and i can’t believe that they are selling their album for only $1. get it while you can!
they’re pretty much my new favorite band.

about the album cover a member of sigur ros said, “it’s got sigurrós and her cousin disa on the front cover in a pic by jónsi’s other sis lilja.” and yes that is who sigur ros is named after. it’s the guitarist/singer jonsi’s little sister. in english her name means “victory rose.”
here is the video for their song “outsiders.” it’s a delightful stop motion video about a sad robot who just wants someone to hold. and there is a cameo from the one and only r2-d2!
