here is the official video for “mercury,” the first single off of bloc party’s upcoming album. at first you’re watching the video and you think to yourself, “what is this wacky shizz?” but by the end you realize that it tells a good story, just in an… interesting way. directed by ace norton by the way. enjoy.

yesterday bloc party had a mysterious countdown on their myspace page that had people speculating that it could be a new single, possibly a new site. today they shared with us a new single called, “mercury” from their upcoming, but not yet finished record.
singer/guitarist/bloc party front man Kele said,
“we’re in the middle of it. we’re still writing and working on it so it’s quite hard to have an overview really, we are making the record i always wanted us to make so we just can’t wait for it to be done.”
