new alexisonfire video- young cardinals

this video is from alexisonfire’s upcoming album old crows/young cardinals which comes out june 23.

first of all this song is terrible. it sounds like a haphazard composite of noise. like they each decided to do everything as fast as they could without any organization. and the video is pretty uneventful too, it reminds me of that part in “bruce almighty” where he’s broadcasting from niagra falls and he flips out and calls the watching audience “fuckers.” but other than that the video really didn’t do anything for me.

now i’m a fan of alexisonfire and i’m not totally discouraged just from this song; i’m willing to wait and see if this is the only mediocre song on the album. i absolutely loved their self-titled album, nothing they’ve done since has topped it, and crisis was decent, it has a lot of energy and some really good songs. it grew on me. but i’m really hoping that “young cardinals” is not an apt representation of the rest of the album. we’ll see june 23.
