thank you to ben at thevanderbeeks.com for showing me this video. this video is a short interview with the wonderful band “bikeride” lead by the late tony carbone. this was actually the first tony carbone/bikeride material i’ve experienced since tony’s untimely passing. it tugged at some heartstrings, but it was nice to see tony happy and at work doing what he loved.

radiohead is completely innovative in every aspect of their being. their new video for the song “house of cards” from their groundbreaking album “in rainbows” was made without the use of any film or lights. it was made using 3D technology to collect and render the information about the shapes and relative distance of objects.

this is not a good week for new releases. there are a few things coming out, but nothing i endorse other than the bleeding through. there’s new john mellencamp, nas, o.a.r. (i hate o.a.r.). if there are any good new releases that you think i’d like, let me know.

new video by fleet foxes for the song “white winter hymnal” off their new self-titled album. this is a very creative and beautiful video. i love stop motion animation.

this is actually a really good week for new releases, every album on this list is worth at least sampling. do yourself a favor a listen to all of them, there’s bound to be something that you’ll like. start with street dogs.

yesterday bloc party had a mysterious countdown on their myspace page that had people speculating that it could be a new single, possibly a new site. today they shared with us a new single called, “mercury” from their upcoming, but not yet finished record.

singer/guitarist/bloc party front man Kele said,

“we’re in the middle of it. we’re still writing and working on it so it’s quite hard to have an overview really, we are making the record i always wanted us to make so we just can’t wait for it to be done.”
